Without thinking twice, <!--more-->I got the idea to sew myself such a dress, with <a href=\"https:\/\/pm-patterns.com\/en\/ladies-dress\/25-mademoiselle-josephine.html\">Mademoiselle Jos\u00e9phine<\/a> (<em>my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/pmpatterns\/\">Instagram<\/a> <\/em>followers know what I\u2019m talking about).<\/p>\n<p>My first attempt was sewn out of a really nice green textured viscose from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.franceduvalstalla.com\/\">France Duval-Stalla<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11388\" src=\"https:\/\/pm-patterns.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/MelleJoGREEN-10-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"1200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pm-patterns.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/MelleJoGREEN-10-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/pm-patterns.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/MelleJoGREEN-10-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/pm-patterns.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/MelleJoGREEN-10-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/pm-patterns.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/MelleJoGREEN-10.jpg 1545w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>MApart from the open back, here are the alterations I made to that dress compared to the <a href=\"https:\/\/pm-patterns.com\/en\/ladies-dress\/25-mademoiselle-josephine.html\">original pattern<\/a>:<br \/>\n&#8211; I modified the waistband which is straight instead of curved,<br \/>\n&#8211; I curved the neckline and added some little ruffled sleeves thanks to the <a href=\"https:\/\/pm-patterns.com\/en\/women-tutorials-and-free-patterns\/48-melle-josephine-pack.html\">PACK<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11384\" src=\"https:\/\/pm-patterns.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/MelleJoGREEN-6-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"1200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pm-patterns.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/MelleJoGREEN-6-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/pm-patterns.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/MelleJoGREEN-6-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/pm-patterns.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/MelleJoGREEN-6-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/pm-patterns.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/MelleJoGREEN-6.jpg 1998w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But\u2026I don\u2019t know what I had in mind when I chose to sew a size 40\u2026one size above the size I usually sew!!! My dress (<em>well, its backs mostly<\/em>) stands on its own! I love my princess dress out of this grey Tencel from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mondialtissus.fr\/\">Mondial Tissus<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And since I wanted to please my customers who already own the pattern, I wrote the OPENDBACK tutorial that will help you modify the back of <a href=\"https:\/\/pm-patterns.com\/en\/ladies-dress\/25-mademoiselle-josephine.html\">Mademoiselle Jos\u00e9phine<\/a> to get an open-back dress. The tutorial is available here:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pm-patterns.com\/en\/women-tutorials-and-free-patterns\/52-melle-jo-openback.html\">OPENBACK<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I hope that you will love your princess dresses as much as I love mine!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">PS : pfor this maxi length, I lengthened the Back and Front Skirt pieces, measuring myself from the waist down to the ground to know how much I needed to add.<br \/>\nETo get this flared skirt effect, I also widened the base of the skirt (the part closest to the ground): each half-skirt (front and back) is 60cm-wide.
